Privacy summary
A plain-language account of the data archie handles and the choices you have.
Draft. This is an accurate description of how archie works today, written in plain language. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and is not the final legal privacy policy; that will replace this page before public launch.
What stays on your computer
Your business database (orders, customers, tickets, invoices, settings) is a single encrypted file on your own computer. The key to it is held by your operating system's credential store.
What is sent to the archie Hub
AI features run through the archie Hub. To draft a reply, archie sends the text of the customer message and the context needed to answer it. To learn your tone and knowledge, it sends samples of your replies and the text of your website's FAQ and policy pages. To read an invoice or estimate, it sends the extracted text of that document. For each business, the Hub keeps a tone profile, a knowledge base and a history of drafts, encrypted and kept separate from other businesses.
Your email
Mail is fetched to your computer. Gmail and Outlook connect through those providers' own sign-in pages; archie holds an access token, not your password. For other providers, your IMAP/SMTP password is kept in your encrypted local database.
Your account details
When you sign up, the Hub stores your email address, your business name and a protected form of your login credentials, and records your plan and usage so it can apply the right allowances.
Your choices
- You approve every reply and every document before it is sent or saved.
- You can edit or remove any fact in your knowledge base and any part of your tone.
- You can ask us to delete what the Hub holds for your business, at hello@archiehq.co.
- Your local database is a file you own and control.
